All the world’s a stage
Imagine a place where children are free to express themselves, to dance, sing and perform to their heart’s content with no fear of judgement or criticism. That’s what we provide at EtonHouse – a nurturing and accepting environment where uniqueness is celebrated and creativity is rewarded. Your child will enjoy the opportunity to explore their inner artist, discover their hidden potential and hone their talents, all while having fun. And by giving your child the support and recognition they deserve, they attain essential lifelong skill sets such as empathy, humility and confidence.
As Dr Seuss said, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”
We take our music seriously at EtonHouse. If fact, it’s such a big part of what we do that we’ve even aligned it with our mainstream curriculum. That’s because we believe that music promotes self-expression, intelligence and creativity. Plus, it’s fun and a great way to relax. It’s little wonder then that our students really enjoy our music lessons. It’s not just the many cool and exotic instruments they get to play like the pianica and African djembe drums. It’s also the holistic music education they receive. Besides learning how to read music, your child will learn notations, create their own music, use apps to produce their own songs and even record their own music videos.
What’s more, we have tons of activities for your child to showcase their talents. If your child is really into the singing scene, have them join the school choir or audition for our resident band Singers at EtonHouse. They’ll have many opportunities to sing their hearts out from teacher-led class assemblies and whole-school events to public performances at hospitals and charity events. We also offer private music lessons by external vendors for students who wish to expand their music education.
At EtonHouse, we make a big production of our drama programme. That’s because we believe that every child should have the opportunity to stand on stage and showcase their special abilities. Your child will be involved in plays and skits, taking on different characters and personas and acting them out. In doing so, we not only build up their confidence and public speaking skills, we also boost their emotional intelligence by teaching them empathy so they put themselves in the shoes of others.
But’s it’s not all just glitz and glamour. We also go behind the scenes so our students have a better understanding and appreciation of the hard work that goes into creating a winning performance. Your child will learn script writing, stage production, lighting and sound – all the elements of a successful production. And by organising regular performances for our students, we give them the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents.
At the end of it all, they’ll develop a deeper appreciation of the arts. Because there are no small parts, only small actors.
